CABIN

This 1200 s.f. cabin responds to its context and program. Sited parallel to the Hudson river to maximize views, the rectangular volume is divided into 3 parts (public, services and private). The ridgeline is rotated to create deep eaves for solar shading and produces a dynamic geometry to the overall massing. The main room opens to a cranked covered porch; which beckons the woods, welcomes the winds of the river and provides shelter from the sun. The building is integrated into the landscape through a set of continuously wrapping stairs.
