LFA
DESIGN
Three dimensional architectural form is the result of the complex interplay of intuitive associations and linear thinking. The constraints of spatial demands, building performance and strict budgets contribute to a potent source of creative invention. LFA’s work is informed by John’s research at MIT and the extensive travel of both principals.
MATERIAL
The physical reality of the building - surface color and texture, lightness and weight, thermal conductivity and emissivity, life cycle weathering and aging - is a central focus of LFA’s architecture.
ENERGY
The form of the building - the orientation and shaping of the roof, the placement and nature of the openings, the organization and configuration of interior spaces - strongly determine the thermodynamic behavior of the building.
LANDSCAPE
LFA’s designs respond to the dynamic, animated, seasonally changing and flourishing natural landscape with each site.
